Today, I’m introducing my baby to the world. Thymes Like These is launching as an official business and I’m honestly not sure I’ve been so anxious and excited for anything else in my entire life. It’s a deep dive into the unknown, it’s a lot of vulnerability and hard work, and it’s something that I love come to life. I am not sure what the future holds for TLT, but I have a feeling it’s going to be big. I’ve made a lot of career-altering decisions in my life but this one is by far and away the most exciting. This one feels like I have purpose, intent, talent, and passion. I have been so lucky to have so many incredible jobs, including the one I have now (outside of TLT), that have given me something to bring to this table. Every company I’ve ever received a paycheck from, since I was 16, has helped to lead me here. It is one of the most gratifying and rewarding experiences I’ve ever felt.

So, here she is. Thymes Like These is an entire cumulation of all of my past experiences and passions; it’s a compilation of some of the most fun I’ve ever had. Even more importantly, it’s a collection of the wonderful people in my life who have helped make this dream a reality. The list of those to thank goes on and on, but I’d like to recognize a few by name so that I may cement my gratitude in writing. First, my Rahul, who has told me from the very beginning that there is nothing I cannot do. He has been my sounding board, the captain of my cheerleading squad, and my motivation from the very first time I ever thought about making this a business. I love you, babe. Thank you to Aimee, for showing me what it looks like to build something beautiful with your own hands, and for being the first person to suggest I make this my calling. Thank you the incredibly talented Jennie Kilcup, whose fan club I am the president of, for a logo more gorgeous than I could have imagined, for inspiring me with the empire you’ve built, for letting me use your kitchen and never saying no to whatever it is I want to cook for you. I adore you and your strength makes me want to be better every day. Thank you to Whit, who took my photos for the site and said some of the kindest and most encouraging things I’ve ever heard from anyone. You’re a freaking rockstar. Thank you to Leonard for the quality control and what will undoubtedly be many more discussions on content, branding, and marketing strategies. Thank you to Angela for being my first ever “real” client. Thank you to my mom and my aunties for “oooh-ing” and “ahh-ing” every time I showed them something new. Thank you to Trev and Bay for believing in me. Thank you to all of my friends and family, far too many to mention here, who make me feel confident even when I’m down. Thank you to anyone who has ever told me that my food was delicious or beautiful. I could never have left my comfort zone if it weren’t for those who make up my comfort with love, compassion, encouragement, and kindness.

Thymes Like These is here to stay, and while it may morph into something different over the years, with different products and services or missions, one thing will always remain the same: I want to use food to help others feel the love, fun, and friendship that I have been so lucky to be surrounded with my entire life. I am so dang excited for what comes next.
